We've been on the road for what seems like an eternity now. We left Charlotte on December 11, and we still have another week to go. We arrived in Kansas City yesterday evening. The Call KC is today. Between 15-20,000 have gathered here for this day-a pretty great way to end 2007 and ring in 2008.
Next week I will be participating in a leadership summit for the Luke 18 Project hosted by IHOP. We'll be staying here in KC through January 5.
It's snowing today. It was 80˙ when we left Charlotte. [sigh]

I Forgot My Swimming Trunks
There’s nothing quite like spending Christmas on the beach soaking up the sun with a cool drink in my hand. Spent the morning collecting sea shells with Gracie. "Why yes son, I will help you build a sand castle...

Welcome to Indiana in the winter. Slush, grey skies and green bean casserole. The snowman is from the storm that blew through last weekend. He’s gone now. Two golf ball sized memorials remain in my mother’s muddy yard that’s too soggy now for outdoor joyness.
The kids are learning the fun of searching four local network TV stations received through rabbit ear antenna technology. It’s like playing charades in a foreign language that nobody speaks. C’mon, there’s no “I” in team!
The boys mounted an archeological dig in one of mom’s closets and found some old toys from my childhood. Does anybody remember Micronauts? How about Shogun Warriors? 30 years later, boys are still fascinated by giant robots. I sure hope that 30 years from now we finally have real giant robots that fight each other in major metropolitan areas with rockets and lasers coming out of their chest and fingers.

Small World
I haven't had much to say concerning the shootings in Colorado on Sunday. I've mostly just been praying. This feels like it hits so close to home.
- The shooters parents attend a prayer meeting every Friday night at my friends house in Denver.
- A close friend is family friends with the security guard at New Life that killed the shooter.
- A former student did her DTS training at the YWAM base that was attacked in Denver. Some friends knew the staff members that were killed.
- A friend knew the two teenage sisters that were killed at New Life Church.

80 to 10 in 16 hours
Yea, it has been 80˚ here in Charlotte for the last two days. We leave this evening to drive right into the center of the ice storm blanketing the Midwest.
The National Weather Service posted ice and winter storm warnings Tuesday for parts of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois.
About an inch of ice was expected over parts of Iowa, followed by up to 5 inches of sleet and snow. "It's a pretty good ice-maker," said Frank Boksa, a weather service forecaster.
Please pray for the Bound4LIFE team as we drive through some pretty nasty weather in the next few days. Pray for protection on the road and alertness for the drivers.
